NOTE: THIS APPLIES TO ONLY OFFICE 2013 or GREATER
To format a PDF resume in the iReformat Office app, first it needs to be opened in Word 2013 or greater. To open a PDF in Word, you can do it in 2 ways.
First you can right click on the PDF resume, select Open With.. and Select “Word” like shown below in the image.
When you select the Word(Desktop) in the context menu, the PDF will open in Word. Click “Ok” on the prompt asking if it is ok to convert this to an editable Word document like shown below.
Click OK and the PDF opens in Word. Once the pdf is opened in word, it is important to save it back as a Word document and then reopen to use the office app.
Now you can use the iReformat Office App to format the resume, as detailed in the Guide to formatting a resume using iReformat Office App.
The other way to open a PDF in Word is from the file menu in Word 2013 or greater like shown below. First open Word 2013 or greater and click on the file menu, it will show the Office backstage view like shown below.
From the Office backstage view, click on the browse button to select the PDF file to open.
Once you select a PDF file, it will prompt asking whether it is ok to convert this to an editable Word document, click “Ok” for this prompt. It will convert the PDF to a word document and open it in Word.
Now you can use the iReformat Office app to format the resume.
